I'm debating getting a trials bike to help me improve my riding skills.

does anyone know any places in and around Peterborough to ride a trials bike?

I want to learn how to hop logs better and gain more bike control.

try the crown land use atlas to find crown land in your area. all you need is a few acres with easy access.

There isn't much crown land around me. I would have to drive an hour north to hit crown land. I was more curious if there were any great spots in the ganny or maybe the Northumberland forest

There's a little open meadow play area in the South part of the Ganny. You can access from Carscadden rd. Not sure what is still there for obstacles, but there used to be a few logs etc.

I have been playing in the Ganni with my trials bike and having a blast. Better balance, traction control, clutch and throttle control. Lots of fallen logs to go over as well. I go in off of Wilcox Road where there is the biggest change in topography. I also go up to the Buckhorn area and right there.

For practice I just use the back yard :) It does not take much room to ride trials. If you want more check out local clubs and FaceBook . I can ride trials at our local bike club trails. I would assume any ride area would have a small place to make your on sections.

Old thread but I am in Peterborough as well - probably many years too late. I figure your best bet would be this area: https://www.google.ca/maps/dir/44.1....5361908,200m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!4m1!3e0?hl=en as there is some decent ledges and obstacles, and some rusting old equipment. Lots of spare railroad ties strewn about as well. Access is easy from Syer Line, get on here https://www.google.ca/maps/dir/44.1....5433501,802m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!4m1!3e0?hl=en and head southeast across the railroad tracks.

    See you at Dacre?!
