Save the date: Our man Rick will lead us again on the Super Sunday, as the title says on October 2nd. The ride will start from the Walsingham community center, at the intersection of Hwy 59 and Concession Street. More details will be posted later, stay tuned. Michel
The Super Sunday is coming together: Rick was having trouble with his bike, which would have put the ride in jeopardy but his troubles are getting sorted out! The ride will be 02 October, meet at 9:00 am at the Community centre and be ready to ride at 10:00. That means bikes fuelled up, tires aired down and dressed ready to go. The community centre was already booked by another group, but the people in charge are nice enough to let us use the parking lot. Please park at the back when you arrive and leave the front part open for the ones who rented the place. The Walsingham town hall is at the intersection of Hwy 59 and 6th Concession, south of Langton. Coordinates are: N42 40.6 W080 31.6. The ride is a mix of Norfolk County back roads, ATV trails and a bit of single track. The more difficult sections can be bypassed. This ride is suitable for Big Dogs on knobby tires. All bikes must be blue plated and insured. Cost will be free to members and $10 for non-members. Please post your intentions here if you plan to ride, so we have an idea of the group size. Michel
Do you happen to have a ball mount that you can mount on your bars? If you did then I can put on a mount so you can follow my gps. That way I will lead you to the trails and then you lead the group through. I will meet you on the other side. I have no Idea how long the route is but it is no where near other years totals. There are not many back roads any more. I'm sure people don't want to ride a lot of pavement. I had not considered food at all. I wouldn't think we need to stop to eat but that is up to you. There is nowhere along the route to eat.
Just looking at my gps. I don't have all that we need. We will have to hope for the best when you lead.
Great day to ride today. 6 of us tackled this years route. Not real long but fairly technical in places. Already working on some new trails to add next year.
Great day yesterday, thank you Rick for leading us on a great tour! Nice mix of back roads and forest trails. The Super Sunday is always good to ride with old friends and a good way to make new ones. Good to see/meet everyone yesterday.
Thanks guys for organizing a great ride! I've been attending this ride for years and still rode some great stuff I've never seen before. There's always something new!
Hi there, will there be Super Sunday event this year and if so, is there a confirmed or tentative date? Thanks
Yes we will have the Super Sunday for sure. The initial date was going to be 24 Sept, but we may need more time to pre-ride and have to delay the event a bit. Stay tuned we'll make an announcement soon.
Update: the 2023 St-Williams Super Sunday will now be held on October 01. Look for details in the dedicated thread.
