    Once gain the Rock Hound Rally is coming up in August 18- 20. There are routes of all types for all types or riders. Enduro, Dual Sport, ADV all welcome. Multiple levels of difficulty for all riders . Green Plated Bikes are welcome. Here are the details below.


    Rock Hound Rally / Trail Ride

    THIS IS ONTARIO'S PREMIER OFF-ROAD RALLY/TRAIL RIDE!

    GENERAL EVENT INFO

    This is a one day GPS guided trail ride or ADV Ride in the Kawartha and Madawaska highlands.

    The Trail Ride is designed for riders that enjoy off road trails that incorporate some challenging aspects along the way. This route is best suited for, but not limited to, Enduro-style blue plated Dirt Bikes with a minimum fuel range of 100km. 3 levels of trail ride difficulty are available to choose from. Green (Beginner) , Blue (Intermediate) & Black (Advanced) All 3 Routes will have challenging options within them to choose from.

    In order to be well rested and to attend the riders meeting, we highly recommend that entrants should come up and stay Friday night in the beautiful Marble Lake area.

    The ADV Rally is designed for adventure riders that enjoy twisty, paved / gravel roads with scenic look-outs and fun stops along the way. This route is best suited for, but not limited to, larger adventure bikes like Kawasaki KLR650, Suzuki DR650, KTM Adventure 1190, Yamaha Super Tenere, BMW GS 1200 etc....

    In order to be well rested and to attend the riders meeting, we highly recommend that entrants should come up and stay Friday night in the beautiful Marble Lake area.

    Both Rally and Trial Ride participants will navigate their way around using GPS Routes provided by Rally Connex the night before or the morning of the event. Also, both rides will have a mission / questionnaire sheet to complete in order to achieve points to win prizes. The mission / questionnaire portion of the event is not mandatory but highly suggested. This aspect of the ride is very fun and comedic at times. Either Rally or Trail ride participants can ride as a team or run solo. For more detailed info on both Rally and Trail rides read the descriptions below.

    The Rally & Trail ride begins early Saturday morning (9:30am or as close as we can get. Riders meeting Friday night at 8pm) at The Loon's Call Campground & Cottage Resort) lasts all day, and returns to the same lodge that evening for dinner, live entertainment & a Fireworks Display sponsordored by Langs Off Road. (Dinner is included in the event admission) On Sunday morning there will be the awards presentation at 10:30am & then a impromt to trail ride with Team RC if you wish to het in more seat time.

    If you require training on basic GPS skills there will be a short seminar on the Friday night at The Loon's Call Campground & Cottage Resort. GPS Rentals from Rally Connex are available while quantities last!



    TRAIL RIDE

    TRAIL RIDE (Aggressive Tire Route) Riders choose from 3 different routes. (Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced) to complete a large loop route throughout the day, covering areas from Cloyne, stretching over to Bancroft. There will be GPS Navigating challenges! They will consist of utilizing your GPS to collect points for your over all score. Skill testing challenges will be strategically positioned at technical riding areas along the way. If you choose to ride in a team, one member must have a GPS and basic knowledge of operation. The 3 different routes will consist of 2 track trail, Single Track, gravel roads, Paved roads and other various off road conditions.

    Other ways to achieve points will be photo challenges, video challenges, facebook drops and much more. Come with your smart phones and head cams fully charged! There is no speed or timed related challenges in this event. This event is ideal for but not limited to 250cc through 701cc aggressive dualsport enduro style blue plate road legal bikes with a minimum fuel range of 100km.

    Please note that this event does not have to be all about competition, it is an excellent trail ride if you do not want to be competitive. The entrants who wish to be part of the GPS Challenges during the event will be allowed to head out first. All other non-competitive riders will follow. Treat it like a large GPS guided trail ride if you want.

    GRAVEL & PAVEMENT DUAL SPORT RALLY RIDE (ADV RIDE)

    ADV RALLY (Stock Tire Route)
    Once again this year the Rock Hound Rally will also be hosting a Stock Tire, On-Road friendly Dual Sport Ride. A 50/50 mixture of pavement and gravel roads through some of the most beautiful scenery Southern Ontario has to offer. Fun Challenges and intriguing games will be included in the ride for your chance to win awards and prizes. This is a great ride for larger dualsport bikes or riding two up. So bring your friends and loved ones out for the best Dual Sport Ride of the year!

The Navigating challenges contain tests that must be completed in order to gain multiple points. Other ways to achieve points will be photo challenges, video challenges, facebook drops and much more. Smart phones and head cams fully charged! This portion of the event is ideal for 250cc through 1200cc dualsport adventure blue plate road legal bikes.
