Veteran street rider but the DS bug has recently bitten pretty hard. I've trained new riders for the street for many years now at many locations through CSC but the last couple of years I've discovered that I really only enjoy short road sections in order to get to the next trail. Talk about an epiphany! My usual riding partner is my 15 yr old son on the 140 and we try to explore as much as possible through the summer (Ganny, Northumberland, Raglan and Somerville forest). I'm really hoping to do some organised rides this year so any suggestions are appreciated.
Name: Yan. New member from Toronto. 51.
I used to ride an enduro in Europe in the 80's and I recently got back into dirt trails with my Honda NC750. That bike was not ideal so I got something a bit more dirt focused, a ducati desert sled. I also love sidecars and currently ride the black ural retro.
I like to explore unpaved sideroads and trails but i don't really know where the good trails are. This was my main motivation for joining.
My most enjoyable ride so far has been the Old Wagon road through bigwind lake provincial park.
Old wagon road is a beauty! It is always part of my route up to Halliburton.
Location Chatham, ON
Happy February everyone.. spring is coming !! Been out riding a few times this year already, as I live in Chatham (an hour west of London) I have only 1 bike but it's a whole lot of fun.
2018 KTM 500 EXC-F blue plated bought new in 2018 and have put 11,000kms on it since Many modifications just like everyone else I'm sure. I have a couple cousins in Orangeville so I hope to get up that way this year and ride some of the events.
If anyone is in SW Ontario feel free to send me a message and maybe we can hook up for a gravel road rip
Cheers ! Jody
Very nice machine...
Nice to see this post is still alive and well! Planning some new things for 2020. Keep an eye on the forum and facebook page.
I don’t own this bike but was wondering what is was? I think it’s a Harley-Davidson based on the foot peg. I love that pipe. It looks like there is a filler cap on the frame, maybe for oil? I found it beside a hotel in Saskatchewan in 2017. Any info?
Looks like an Aermacchi Sprint to me. They were an Italian made bike I believe. Late 60's early 70's.
After writing that I thought nope the ameracchi bikes had a horizontal single. That motor is totally wrong. I think either ss125 or more likely sxt250
Thanks for the info. I think you got it! Looks like a combination Harley-Davidson Aermacchi and some Yamaha ( AMF ) may have owned Harley-Davidson at that point? I think the tank is (99% sure ) from Yamaha, the inset logo is unique. Don’t think it belongs to this bike. Have not nailed the year but the low taillight says early 1970’s. Not too sure on the size either, the top of the head does not appear to have fins on it? Found a pic that should be close to how it looked stock. Hope the snow melts soon!!!!,!,!,!,!
I agree on the tank. It looks old yammy. It through me for a loop
Hi everyone, my name is Achilleas. I started my first dual sport and off road rides through this forum in 2015. Finally, after 5 years of punishing myself with my G650Gs in the dirt, I got a second (proper this time) bike. I took advantage of the financing Husqvarna offered for last year’s models and got the 501. Then the world fell apart..
New member here from Dowling Ontario. Just got back into dual sporting after a few years break due to work and a baby . Now she’s grown and I needed to scratch an itch. I have access to thousands of klm’s of dirt road and trails right from my driveway. Had a few off road bikes In the past and just bought this . This bike was ridden but not beat up too bad. There’s still snow on the ground and off road but I’ve already racked up 1500k just farting around . Oh ya , name is Denis and I’m 44.
Returning member. Had a DRZ 400, Beta 400RR and KLR 650 all sold. Returning after a few years of not riding with a
big dog: 2017 Africa Twin with DCT.
Hey Rudy. Welcome back to the club. I am in Cambridge as well. Maybe we can ride soon.
Rudy? You're Back? With a Big Dog? Outstanding!
As for me, I'm still riding my sweet 2001 KLR.
Yeah !! Michel also is having a loving affair with his Mistress. Her name is Beta. I gather they went on a trip last summer. BTW Michel, when i got my Honda, I had thought if i got the same colour as your Beta it will go as fast. Sadly mistaken lol.
Sweet ride Rudy. Welcome back
