Bought a Garmin Vista HCX and have compared it to a regular Legend Cx.

Vista has built in altimeter and electronic compass.

The difference between the 2 is a high sensitivity antenna, the HCx is incredible! The speed of acquisition and it's ability to hold a signal is much better. It keeps my location in my house 15ft from the nearest window, regular Cx needs almost direct view of sky.

For thous of you that wanted the size of the Legend but felt you needed the sensitivity of the 60Cx, they wrapped it all up into the Legend/Vista HCx package. Very nice little unit for the price of around $300.

Also display is great if you have good eyes, topo and city nav work on it very well.

    Very impressed user, Graham

LOL, so it'll track inside your house ?

I expect to see track logs posted soon from the TV, to the beer fridge to the WC, tho the computer, etc. etc.

Actually, the higher-sensitivity receiver is a useful feature. I've got a 60C and I've run into some situations just driving/riding around where I've lost signal due to tree cover, i.e. Hwy 35 South of Dorset going south, various off-road places up here and even out on lakes under certain cloud conditions.
