Anyone believe Honda will actually try to produce & sell this? http://www.cycleworld.com/2012/01/26/ne ... l-feature/ IMO, they should..............will they?
Looks production ready to me. It makes alot of sense given the relative success of the Yamaha WR series. As the owner of an XR250, I'd be interested. Bruce
My guesses. Chances of producing it...50% Chances of it being sold in Europe if they do 100% Chances of it being sold in N.A. if they do...20%
Vicious Cycle sent this from the bike show out east.................... It is going head to head with the Kawasaki KLX250S and the Yamaha WR250R. The nice thing is pricing is said to be $1500 less then the Yamaha and $300 less then the Kawi.
Costas Mazouris, in the latest CMG e-mag said that after testing the road version (CBR250), he was next expecting to be able to test the CRF250. It has the same engine...probably with a different set up though. Bring it! Bruce
Bash plate, hand guards, some decent tires...good to go. It'll cover 90% of what we ride in the ODSC. Bruce
The bike was on display at the supercross last night. It looked very nice ...I bet they sell lots of them if they come in at 5g .
The rep was sted fast that the bike was going be right around 5000.00. Compared to a Te250....the Honda is still a beginner bike.
No comparison between this Honda/wr250r to a husky 250. I won't even put them in the same legue /category.If riding trails, single track is your thing - husky all the way. If you are looking for a true dual sport bike that can run 10,000km per year, can handle some single track if required, ridden to/from work, extremely low.mtc, ride dual sport rides with Dr/klr/etc - then the husky isn't it IMO. If they were priced in the $5,000 range - they will sell like.hotcakes, but I agree with scott - msrp will be closer to $7,000 - but we could be totally wrong.
I bought a KLX over a TE for the reasons above and I don't regret it. The WR is $7k, the KLX, $5900. I don't know about the WR, but nobody pays full price for a KLX. I bet the CRF will be a lot more KLX than WR, and probably $5900, but without the discounts.
No one pays full price for a WR either! I think Scott and I may be eating our words on expected msrp. - as i did not realize that Honda sold their cbr250r for $4,499. $5000 is totally do-able. http://motorcycle.honda.ca/sport/cbr250r
I was thinking the same thing- if they sell the CBR 250 for under $5000, they should be able to sell these for a similar price.
