    Hi All,

Does anyone know the waypoint reference for the scenic lookout point in the Ganaraska (the one that looks south towards the lake with a view of the ski hills)?

I was there a number of times with TrailTours but have been unable to find it myself. I have one of the older Ganny trail maps but cannot figure out where the trails are to the lookout. I also downloaded Fitter's trail map on my Garmin (thanks Fitter) but do not know which Waypoint is the scenic lookout so the Garmin is not much help. Clearly orienteering is not my strongpoint

    Thanks in advance,

    NCW

Its really easy to get there, go down the road south from the parking lot, when you get to the trail by the big tree turn right go up the rocky hill by the tree with the roots sticking out then turn right again and your pretty much there!

It is almost directly south of P2 (parking lot south of Boundary Rd).
If you look at the GPS map, it is west of WF18.
You can see it labeled as Lookout Hill.
It's also not that far from the large sand hill.

As Bill said "when you get to the trail by the big tree"..... (not that big tree the other big tree)..... you'll see
some branches and a few rocks strewn about..... also watch out for that rut (not that rut the other rut).....

If Bill's description doesn't help.. Hope " N44.06269 W78.57751 " and the below pic will.. Please forgive Bill..
It's his Birthday today... Also Bill grew up riding the Ganny (while wearing cloth diapers on a tricycle)..

For what it's worth.. The coordinates myself & Mike posted above are for the same location (Lookout)

    " N44.06269 W78.57751 " is "Degrees.degrees".. " N44 03.764 W78 34.655 " is "Degrees minutes.minutes"

If you are given a coordinate in a different format you could convert it to another format.. Or change
the format in your gps.. On my Garmin 276c go to 'Setup' scroll to 'Location' scroll to 'Location Format'..
On computer click 'Edit' scroll and click 'Preferences' and click 'Position Tab' then change 'Grid Format'..

    Thanks everyone.

I was going to ask Bill which parking lot he was referring to (I typically start from the Porter Road one) but will give the coordinates a try first :)

Once I realized the compass on my Garmin Oregon 200 only works when I am moving things became a bit easier!
