Hi, My wife & I just signed up today. I'm just wondering what time the ride wraps up Sunday as I have to work Sunday evening. I figure we can take roads back if we're pushed for time. If that's the case, hopefully someone can bring out tent/bags back to somewhere near Toronto...any takers? We live in the east end of T.O.

    Thanks,
    Eric/Kate

    Hi Eric,

No worry about your tents and supplies. I will be bringing a van and a trailer to the start location to take everyones tents, coolers and bags to Trenton. I will also be taking all the supplies back to Ponty Pool on Sunday. I will be there before any of the riders get back.

If for some reason you have to bail out of the ride on Sunday part way through and head for home (assuming you did not trailer to Ponty Pool) then I will take any supplies back to my place in Pickering and you can give me a call and we can arrange for pick-up.

I'm so looking forward to this! Hopefully I will have my "enduro proof" camcorder mount ready in time and I can get some video of the ride.

See you all on Sat. !

    Dave & Paul,

Thanks very much for the offers. Since we live in the Beach (Beaches?) as well, I'll take Dave up on his offer. I'd give you a ride up Saturday AM but our trailer only holds 2 bikes. Looking forward to the ride.

    All,

Just to repeat Gary's earlier point regarding the start location: If you have signed up and not gotten an Email with the details of the start, then please PM him.

We don't want to publish the start location to the general public, as it is a private facility that is only open to us for this event.

    Thanks,

    Ken

Help needed to get to RFS from Ottawa

I made plans to share a trailer ride and accommodations Friday night with tj but his KLR is in the shop for repairs and may not be fixed in time. If he can't ride I may be stuck here in Ottawa.

Is any one going to the RFS from Ottawa that can help me? I'm also considering riding my bike to the start but Sunday will be a very long day of riding unless I bail out and head east instead of riding back to the start location.

Another option is to see how fast I can get a trailer hitch set up on my car and borrow tj's trailer.

    Great Ride. Super time.

Thanks to everyone that helped organize this ride. Bev and I had a super time. Great people to ride with. This was our first ODSC event together and it could not have been a better introduction.
Hope to ride with the club again soon.

Well what a great weekend!! It was the best Ride for Sight I have ever been at. The weather was PERFECT, the bands were awesome and the team from the ODSC were fantastic!

We started with a goal to raise $5,000 for the Ride for Sight. The final tally is not in yet but my calculations put us at close to $9,000! WOW! That is amazing. A special mention goes to Dave Millier who raised $1, 210 in his first Ride for Sight and his first ODSC ride and the same for Mike Sigmundt at $625. The exposure for the club is amazing. We ended up in 3rd place for on-line fundraising across Canada and I think we will end up in 5th spot for club fundraising in total dollars for all clubs. We should be very proud of what we accomplished; I know I am proud of the team. The Ride for Sight featured our name and web site on 50,000 brochures that were handed out at motorcycle shows across Canada, and for the first time ever, the Ride for Sight poster featured a dualsport bike right in the centre of the poster.

There were a ton of people passing our camping area stopping to look at our bikes all lined up in front of the site. I must have had conversations with a dozen people that started with "I would love to try that!”

We had three ladies on the ride this year! Two of them SMOKED their significant others on the trails, and one who had to be carried back to her tent after the concert on Saturday. We also had four ladies who join up with their significant others in Trenton and camped our with the group.

The headliners this year were Kim Mitchell and David Wilcox. I personally have never seen Wilcox live and I was blow away. What a great guitar player.

Stay tuned for pictures in the next couple of days.

For those who could not attend, I truly encourage you to sign up for next year. This is such a unique riding experience. A great ride followed by a great party, followed by another great ride.

I also want to thank everyone who made this ride happen. Despite my sore throat and sore lower body, with your help I had a good time.

Look forward to ride with the club again.
