Pennsylvania...September

It's now an October ride. 13th/14th, longer if you want to stay.

Is that all it took in a headline to get you to look? Wow!

I'm thinking of a ride on a DRZ400 down into the area of W. New York/N.W. Pennsylvania (Jamestown, Ellicottville, Warren, etc.). I have some GPS files from Gary P. (Thank you, Gary). Hopefully, it's most secondary and gravel.

It could well be an overnighter, as I'd hope to get down on Friday night and ride all day Saturday, returning Saturday night. But it could be longer and the whole key is the support vehicle(s). I don't want to sit on the Suzuki that long, so I'll probably use my truck to get over the border, at least. So, in other words, it could be a Sunday return too, if it works for others.

Should be good Bruce, I ran a bunch or that stuff a few years ago. Gary planned the trip, then broke his collar bone, so me, Smitty and a couple others went down, good of Gary to plan it though

I'm interested. I had a weekend planned to ride the renovo area in Pa. this past summer but the weekend ended up being cutting and baling hay.

...don't worry, you'll just get five million people RSVP and only 5 show up...

I'll be watching this to see if a) someone would be able to offer a spot on their trailer for rent and b) I can make the proposed time work...

...if anyone going has an extra trailer spot for this event, plz PM me! Happy to cover gas and/or grab dinner.

Where would one trailer to start Location ?

I'm riding down to the Worlds End State Park area (Forksville/Dushore) from Belleville-ish on the 14th. Returning on the 17th. Won't be trailering though.

I-81 to I-86 to 220. Then spending a couple days trailing around central PA. I'm down there a few times a year, some of my favorite roads & trails. If you're in the area let me know, I can show you where to get some awesome breakfast Scrapple.

Renovo is a great area for riding. The roads are amazing! Unfortunately the Ox Yoke in closed down.

Any progress? Would love to put this on the calendar.

How about delaying til October (catch the colours, maybe?).

I'm looking at the weekend after Thanksgiving...that would be Friday, October 13 (ooooooooooh, sorry for any of you going to Dover), through the weekend, if you're keen.

Weekend of the Terra Nova Enduro. I'm out.

Probably the 990. I don't think it's too much more than gravel and trails. I haven't actually ridden these routes...so I'm going on related familiarity with the area.

Bruce, if its the ones we did its all gravel forest roads, I know Gary has some new ones since then, but thats the ones I know. We branched off and did some others, but it was mostly the same with a few short trails here and there, nothing gnarly. Some very fun pavement to be had as well.

If you are in the ares go see the Kinzua bridge, its worth a stop.

I emailed you my route from the way down, if you are going to truck part way anywhere south of Buffalo is where the riding gets decent.

+1 on the Kinzua bridge stop.
( the underbrush is starting to fill in the valley making harder to see the remains of the fallen sections)

Finally getting some breathing room to make plans. At this point, Days Inn, Warren, PA looks reasonable. Would arrive there Friday night, having trucked across border and left truck in the Ellicottville area. Riding then to hotel and spending most of rest of next day on bike, before re-loading and driving home.

Show of hands there? I've got two more enthusiastic riders already, I believe.
