Further back in this thread you'll find the gpx files for both the DS and ADV routes.

Its cold this morning but its not raining and there is a light dusting of white stuff .

We are going ahead with the ride but wear your warmest riding gear! Hopefully it will warm up a bit as the day goes on.

Somebody needs to have a talk with that mother of nature chic!

We had 30 riders brave the wind and cold and everyone seem to have a great day of riding. One bike breakdown..

Any day riding is better then not riding!

I wish I had taken some pictures from the trail. Early in the day there was some areas where you'd ride out of the bush into a clearing overlooking snow covered fields. Bitterly cold but beautiful.

I was not able to attend this ride, but would like to ride the GPS track. Are ther areas that were only available for that day?

I wish I rode with you guys on this one, but that day I was on "Top Of The World" near St-George Utah. Temperature was +32°C, sunny & sandy. Utah 2019 St-George.jpg

The Bethany ride is done on public access roads. You should have no problem.

So a little late, but it's cold out there and I finally got to processing some footage. Check out my video montage from the 2019 event:

Let me know what you think in the comments. This is new for me, so feedback is super important!

    Nice work on the video!
(Side note - I'm surprised the Tiguan can support a bike carrier. You find it works fine?)

You have to make it work with what you got... wife wanted a 'SUV that is BIG inside but SMALL on the outside' - yeah...

The hitch is 20% beyond MFG capacity rating, but I figure there has to be some room there to accommodate for overly-conservative 'reccomended' load ratings from VW. Stock suspension was also way too low/soft to deal with the weight of the bike, so I raised the body with 32mm front+rear coil spacers from TEMA4x4.

End result is more than adequate for my needs. I've taken the bike on this rig now at least once per week for almost two riding seasons and hit some decent potholes and tail crossings to feel comfortable that it's not going anywhere. Farthest I've been with the bike on the back is Kilarney, also having the family and camping gear along for the ride..
