As most people know, Desjardins purchased the Canadian operations of State Farm a while ago. I recently phoned Kirk to confirm his ODSC sponsorship for 2019. He commented that when the changes took place, he was unsure how that would affect motorcycle policies. As it turns out he can still write policies for offroad motorcycles. These policies are cheaper than those for dual sport and street machines. Phone for a quote if you are shopping around. He offers much more than just motorcycle...

Hey Kirk, I just wanted to post a thank you to John for helping me with my son's green plate insurance. My State Farm dealer had told me it was over double what John had quoted me. Then John was good enough to explain that you can't take business from another State Farm dealer but he would call the other dealer for me and straighten it out. With John's help I received the appropriate premium for my son's bike and I also found an Insurance office that I will be recommending in the future....

Hi Kirk

Do you or do you know of anyone who will insure a green plate bike only and no other bikes/cars/home ins etc? I know it probably isn't much incentive for a company to write up up just the 1 vehicle, but mine won't cover small bikes (it's a XR70) and having just renewed my insurance I'm not really in a position to change companies.

Thanks

Hi Kirk,

Can you clarify the situation around insuring off-road only motorcycles and younger riders (under 16)?

Some of us have been led to believe the way to do this is insure the bike with an adult but have an OPCF-32 attached. Is this correct? If not, what is the proper way to provide the mandatory insurance for our younger riders?
